2009 is here, What comic book movies are you looking forward to?

Persoanlly I am at this point most looking forward to X-Men Origins: Wolverine. I really liked the X-men movies. The third one wasn't as good as the others but it was still it was enjoyable.

I am also looking forward to Watchmen. The comics were great and I am not expected an exact translation of the comic book but it should still be good. From what I have seen it looks very enjoyable.

I saw an add for a show called Push that was very comic book like, The trailer looked good, but I am often tricked by trailers

The summer also has the GiJoe Movie coming and I am both looking forward to this one but also quite worried. This picture has the potential to be awesome or Suck hardcore.

Other comic shows that I have heard about but don't know much about are Preacher, Sherlock Holmes, Hack/Slash, Kickass, Red Sonja, and Whiteout, The Surrogates, and Astro Boy. Marvel also Has a few cartoon movies coming soon, like Wolverine Vs. Hulk and Thor Vs. Hulk. I have all the other marvel animated features upto this point and I have enjoyed all of them with my kids. Dc has a animated Wonder Woman coming in the spring.

I probably missed some but what shows are you all looking forward to this year.

Comic book like movies Dragonball, Terminator, Transformers, & Star Trek are also coming this year.

So what are you all looking forward too this year?

Dude, This movie looks like it will be a sure Blockbuster.

Thankz for showing, I didn't knew it yet but now I'm looking forward to watch it.

As for the others I'm looking forward to see in 2009...

Watchmen, X-Men Origins: Wolverine (altought I really didn't like the 3rd movie that much) and Star Trek.

Push looks pretty cool but yeah, that could just be the trailer. I am of course, looking forward to Watchmen. I still have my doubts about Wolverine, but the trailer looks pretty sweet. Star Trek looks like it could be cool. G.I. Joe and Dragonball both look pretty gay, imo. I think after Watchmen, the one I'm looking forward to the most is Kickass.

That movie looks nice. One I am really looking forward to is 9. This is based on a short movie by the same name.

*edit*
Well it looks like I don't know how to put a movie here. So here is the Youtube url that I probably don't know how to make clicky.

I am looking forward to Watchmen... but I am sick of everyone I know wanting to borrow my copy!
Wolverine doesn't excite me... I always thought they had the character wrong for the big screen and are just pandering to the masses, more so here.
(Push and T28 both look cliched... where is the originality?!)
I am looking forward to Star Trek, I think the marketing has been great ever since the first trailer of building Enterprise.

Here's so me more due this year;
Planet 51
Another Underworld sequel
Creature From The Black Lagoon (and apparently Breck Eisner will remake Flash Gordon after this)
Fanboys
The Surrogates
The Wolf Man
The Birds
S. Darko (sequel to Donnie)
Dorian Gray
Sherlock Holmes (Robert Downey Jr)
The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus (Terry Gilliam... featuring the final performance of Heath Ledger)
Coraline (Neil Gaiman)
They Came From Upstairs
Terminator Salvation - the start of a storyline spanning 3 movies
Monsters vs Aliens
Avatar (James Cameron)
Inglourious Basterds (Tarantino)
Red Sonja (Riodriguez)

When's Sin City 2 due?

I'm with OCP's list.

I can't wait for Watchmen (I think our local iMax will run it), and hope that X-Men Origins: Wolverine and Star Trek will be good. This may be Star Trek's last gasp if the movie is shiat.

Does T28 remind anyone other than me of The Iron Giant?

T-28 looks like an Animators exit reel from school. Good animation, but come on...

I really am not looking forward to any of them considering I always get the bug to go to the movies after they are already on DVD. SO... I will need some reviews to get me motivated to go see any of these. DOn't get me wrong, a lot of them look like they have great potential... it is just hard to spend $20 to see these at the theater.

The crotchety old comic historian here to set matters straight again.
More likely Iron Giant was T28 on steroids. T-28 is based on Gigantor... a Japanese comic from '56 later turned into a cartoon which arrived in the US in '66 but had to have the violence edited out because it was a bit ahead of the cultural curve. SO I do find it a bit ironic to suggest the original is lacking in originality, at least tribute is paid where it belongs here. I for one, am looking forward to seeing this updated... anime has always had it's own distinct charm and this character was one of the pioneering stories of that genre. Thanks for the heads up, Star... I for one will be looking forward to the revamp... just hope they don't mangle it!

... and yeah, movie prices suck! Probably why I'm more inclined toward used DVD's these days!

Whoa there big guy! Similarities do not imply the presence, or lack of, originality, they are just seen.

G.I. Joe trailer.

Looks crap. Seriously, do they not write dialogue anymore? They just take it from a book of movie cliches now?
And what do they have against people obeying the laws of physics? Movies used to look cool, and that was when the actors doing the stunts were people.

I couldn't agree with you more Chillyplasma.
I was kinda hopin' to see a good movie when I heard Quaid and Ray Park were in it, and was looking forward to seeing some Sienna Miller, too. But after seeing the trailer during the Superbowl, man...now I know to stay away from it at the theater.

And knowing is ALL the battle.
