I recently downloaded Starkiller's Transmap Tutorial (yes, colour me NOOB if you wish) but because it's in .doc format and I haven't used M$ Word since Win 95, I get no images.

I've saved the text in .rtf format but it would be most helpful to be able to see the screencaps that (s)he's referring to.

Is there any way that either a gallery just for tutorial images can be established or (perhaps) the whole tut made available in .rtf format? Please?

AAAAARGHH!

Apple lost me when they canned the ][+. I looked at the III and the Lisa but decided to wait for the rumoured Macintosh.

When it came out they were charging $A3K for a 128Kb computer!!! and you couldn't get into the case???

Jose. NO WAY!!

This is me - checking back.
Is a month enough time?
I just re-downloaded the tut in case it has been upgraded. Yet to open it to see what (if anything) has changed.
I've been looking at Peter Cotton's Smackdown (and all the other) costume texture files and even though I';ve got them installed in P7 and even configured and saved a couple of character files, I want (I got a NEED here!) to start experimenting with a view to eventually creating my own.

As far as I know Starkiller hasn't been around here much for some time. It is doubtful he will be updating his tutorial.

Why get new glasses? You know that they have setting for the visually impaired for all computers now.

I have to agree with what Hawk said.

However, if you have any Photoshop or MS Paint(Isn't that what Corel calls their product? ) questions, ask away... there are plenty of people here that use these programs and would be able to help you out!

Bother! I expect that means that the tutorial on bump maps mentioned in the text of the .rtf isn't likely to pop up soon either!

Ah well, Thanks for the update. I shall have to look around a bit more.

Thank you SOOOO much for that kind suggestion! Problem there is that it reduces the overall field of view too much. Currently playing WWII: Time of Wrath and I need to keep an eye on the whole OstFront situation.

Hey, get back to me sometime if you can find exo-skeletal hand prostheses for the ageing, sore, tired, aching and rheumatic fingers, will you? So many forums, so little time!

Bless your rotten cotton socks!
Thank you for the courtesy of your efforts.

For anybody else with a similar problem, I DID find that Micro$oft has published a READER for doc files. You can't edit them, but they do read. There's a similar reader for their .xls files, too.

It was remiss of me not to have advised when I discovered this but frankly, I was too urgently interested in making the transmaps work - getting a grip on those now.

Eventually I'm going to HAVE to spring for a version of Office - waiting until Win7 is released.
