September Challenge:
Cartoon Team-Up

Ok, since the Crossover Challenge was won by two artists from C2F (i.e., one of our guys wasn't even on the winning team!), it's been decided we'd have a better chance to win a Team-Up challenge if it's only Heromorph artists. There was also some noise/interest in doing a Cartoon Theme, which seems appropriate. Therefore, the rules of the Challenge are thus:

- Pick/find a partner, or work alone (If you do not play well with others or if you think that you might not be able to complete your picture on
time.) You may Draw, Paint or Manip.

- The Theme is Cartoons, any country (but if you make up a cartoon we'll challenge you to prove it's real , from 1960 through to 1990.

- Here is The Twist: The Cartoon Characters you Manip must be famous people (no "mystery models", no porn site bimbos-unless they're _famous_), and they must be from the same decade as the Cartoon is from! Therefore, if you want to do He-Man, the model you choose must be famous from the 80's - Ahnuld, Lou Ferrigno, Mr. T would all be acceptable models. Or for The Superfriends (70s), think Charlie's Angels or The Love Boat.

- Clarifications available on request. First prize will be a personal Avatar, created by you or the artist of your choosing (assuming the artist likes you . One entry per contestant, If the winner of the challenge already has a custom avatar they can pass the prize on to the artist/artists that come in second.
The due date is September 30.
Now go get to work

OKay, about time I took part in a challenge.
Somebody be my team-mate (and come up with a good idea).

BTW by my count I have 45 manips posted to Heromorph, plus 3 in the works and this challenge will make 49. Are there any traditions for posting the 50th manip?

Max - still having crazy adventures in the 21st Century.

*Hee hee!* Are you sure about that? What if the guys from C2F who are new members here win?

Don't understand.... we Heromorphers team up with C2F guys.... so how couldn't be Heromorphers in the winning side?, besides it wasn't HM vs C2F challenge... mmm.... It's a nice idea to do one

Good heavens, I think head swaps will be _required_. Or have you seen what Christopher Reeve looks like today? (Not to put him down, he's done a helluva lot!) DK, as I explained to you, the winners of the Heromorph/C2F Challenge were _both_ members of C2F. (Which kinda bites, because let's face it, they deserved to win.) Brick, why don't you team up with Max.
(Crap, did I just say that? D'oh!)

Yeah, I'll probably end up having a go. It'll be good to get the practice. Its been really hard to find a character to do though.

If anyone is at all interested in teaming up to work I'll quite happily work with whoever

So Heres a drink and we're off to work.

Hard to find a character? Aren't cartoons a product that America excels at spewing out? For discussion, and off the top of my head, here is a chronological list of potential candidates:

The 60's, a banner decade for cartoons:

The Impossibles (put at the top, cause I hope someone Manips them!)
The Flintstones
The Jetsons
Johnny Quest
The Herculoids
Space Ghost!
Fantastic Voyage
The Mighty Heroes
("Oh, the Mighty Heroes! Created by Ralph Bakshi!" "Who?" "Forget it, kid, before your time...")
Wacky Races
Underdog
Atom Ant
Space Kidettes
Secret Squirrel
The Pink Panther!

The 70's, intriguingly mine-able:

Challenge of the Superfriends
Josie and the Pussycats (C'mon,Josie and the Pussycats! It's a gimmee!)
Josie and the Pussycats In Outer Space
The Shazam/Isis Hour
Journey To The Center Of The Earth
SeaLab 2020
Scooby Doo
The Freedom Force
Hong Kong Fooey
Arabian Knights (it was a cartoon on the Banana Splits)
Star Trek The Animated Adventures

Dare I say it, Schoolhouse Rock?

The 80's, and I'm sure this is the category where everyone will add stuff I miss:

He-Man
She-Ra
Thundercats
G.I. Joe
M.A.S.K.
Galaxy Rangers
Silverhawks
Defenders Of The Earth
Brave Starr
Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors
JEM
Flash Gordon
Transformers (?)
Gobots (?)

And, since the Challenge is multi-country, you can add Anime:

Robotech
Star Blazers (this was Star Cruiser Yamato in Japan)
Voltron

And the list goes on and on.

Feel free to chime in with any I've missed.

BB

FINALLY someone remembers the Galaxy Rangers. One of my favorite cartoons. And on the note of Ralph Bakshi, didn't he do a cartoon movie called Wizards? On that note, is cartoon movies allowed for this?

I remember the Galaxy Rangers all the time, after watching the DVD one day I was inspired to do this piece: http://heromorph.com/modules/myalbum/photo.php?lid=1950

Winterhawk said earlier today in the shout box that cartoon movies are included.

Max - somewhere in the future

-That is correct, we discussed this last night. So, Wizards, Heavy Metal, The Rankin-Bass Lord of The Rings movies, everything Disney, The Last Unicorn, the list just goes on and on. Click here for some light reading.

-Max, your Niko would be allowable, but only if you changed her face to some 80's celebrity. Same goes for Kallisti's Taarna, in case you're wondering, K.

-And lastly, last night someone suggested Dom Deluise as Captain Caveman, and that is such a good idea I wanted to save it for prosperity!

It occurs to me that when such an obscure reference like Captain Caveman is imagined by more than one member succinctally, it is time to quietly get up, walk into the kitchen, and wrap my head in tin foil.
Where is the mind control device!?! It can't be JR's Jamie, thats too new. BB's fluttering wings? Winter's subliminals?
AHAH! Found it! Cereal Killer's bouncing icon!
You think to subvert the Prophet Blur?!
You cannot have me!
you cannot...
you..
hhmmm.... bouncy....

I really wanted to accept this months challenge, with:
Cousin Itt as Captain Caveman!
(yes, I know technically the time period doesn't match, but the addams family was popular well into the eighties. besides, the similarities twixt the two were just too perfect)
My second choice was Cheryll Ladd as Penelope Pitstop.
But alas, due to work, and upcoming responsibilities, I am denied my simple diversions for a time, and cannot participate (which is just as well; I can finish working on my mind-control blocking devise... you think you know Roswell Porn...you have NO IDEA!)
I thought I would mention them, so anyone having trouble thinking of a character could use one of these. But it is clear that you are all under the same mind control, and for most, it is already too late.
While I cannot start any new projects, I will continue to moniter the site for any errant threads of subjectivity and eradicate those who would see our wills bent to their twisted design (BB, Max, I'm lookin in your direction).
So move over DD, whilst I take a seat up here in the nosebleed section.

Forever Vigilant!

Don't include me in the same boat as Bikerbot!
My twisted design is <I>entirely</I> different from his twisted design.

My brilliant plan is to take over the world using an army of robot-monkeys.
I understand that BB's idea is to attempt world domination with an army of monkey-robots (how foolish is that?).

See? Completely different.

Max - if you're going to stick a monkey's brain somewhere, it might as well be inside a deadly robot.

God Forbid. The same boat as Max? It would be like this:

Quote:
My twisted design is entirely different from his twisted design.
Exactly. Mine's better. ("an army of robot-monkeys..." *Pff!* Where do you install the frickin' laser beams? Monkey-robots, now, they're all metal. None of that Cyborg robot-monkey hybrid crap. All metal, except for the brain...)

Quote:
Max - if you're going to stick a monkey's brain somewhere, it might as well be inside a deadly robot.
I'm saving one special monkey brain that's not going into a deadly robot. Care to guess where it's going?

Quote:
I am crying... and not because i just stubbed my toe on the coffee table.
Well, at least you don't use your toe to Manip. Oh wait, you do use a tablet...

Quote:

*Tsk!* Silly boy, it's way too late for tin foil...

Quote:

I've already started my Penelope Ladd folder, 'cause if you don't do her, I will. Stop snickering, Billy, I didn't mean it that way!

Hey all,

Back in the real world...my job has just gone mental. I've been working late every night and all my weekends for the rest of the month are booked (feel sorry for me? Don't, I'm really buff and have a cool car).

So, while I want to do this team-up there is no way I will be finished this month.
If someone else wants to team-up with Brick that is cool with me - no reason he should miss out.

Max - it's all my fault, I told the aliens Roswell is a great vacation spot and you drive on the left.
