I just heard that the upcoming cbs show for supergirl has casts Melissa Benoist as the title character. I have never seen her in anything so I don't know if she is any good.

I am surprised that CBS is picking this up. I would have thought the WB would have jumped on this.
No clue who she is. But she is pretty hot.

I think that is part of the problem with DC Comics TV. You have the CW universe with Flash and Arrow.
Then you have the Fox universe with Gotham.
And Soon the CBS universe with Supergirl.
And they have the movie universe.
I personally would have prefferred a more unified universe, like keeping all the tv together and the movies seperate or in a perfext world a single film and tv universe.

Well, DC had the chance to learn from this mistake if they had paid attention to Marvel Movie licensing Issues.
FOX owns the rights to X-Men and Fantastic 4
Sony Owns the rights to Spider-Man
Flash forward a few years.
Marvel wants the X-Men for upcoming movies. Fox says no.
In retaliation, Disney Tells Marvel to stop creating any new X-men Characters, resulting in Fox only able to use characters that only currently exist and to cancel the Fantastic 4 so it could not be used for future movie plots based on the comics.
Congrats DC for saving yourself the trouble and shooting yourself in the foot early.

I lied, I had seen her in something. I saw her toppless in the TV series Homeland.
If DW hadn't posted the IMDB I would have never known.

Didnt know Marvel was cancelling Fantastic Four. Has things got that bad really? FF was one of the titles that re-engergized Marvel. While I do hate what they have in plan for the next movie..no need to kill the mag. The damage is already done. So do they plan to cancel the X titles next? Who knows. could explain why they killed off Wolverine.

I remember reading that marvel had a directive to Kill off a couple x-men characters per year. They killed Wolverine last year and Deadpool is going to die this year. (Most likely because a new deadpool movie is planned.)

Of course I had to take a look for the topless scene... surprise surprise I find she did a hardcore "art" photo shoot. This day and age the CBS marketing department must feel they hit the jackpot with this girl.

Marvel is so dumb. Selling the rights to X-Men is a bad enough move but to also sell the rights to the term 'mutant' is another. But they could always use non-x-men like they did with Quicksilver & Scarlet Witch and just retool their origins.

I can't find the Art photo shoot. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA sounds like a good place for base images.

Supergirl has the option to cross over with Arrow and Flash. CW is owned by CBS so that might actually happen. I expect they will be in their own universes but able to crossover by going through detentions or something.

I just watched the TV trailor and Cat Grant is Calista Flochart I think( been so long since I've seen her in anything) but that's not so much my problem as Jimmy Olsen being Black!!!! What's with that? CBS Supergirl

Well if you think about it. A black Jimmy Olsen should have been expected in today's trend of live comic movies/shows. There's a black Iris West on Flash, we had a black Perry White in Man of Steel and there's a black Johnny Storm on the way. Did you have an issue with a black Pete Ross on Smallville? It's just the network's way of reaching a broader audience. I wonder though how serious the writers think true comic fans will take this series. Where the heck did the sister come from? Or the glasses? And just how many people is she gonna let in on her secret? Don't get me wrong I'm gonna watch but it's going on a short leash.

Opps whole new can of worms,
I knew I shouldn't have mentioned this touchy subject but since I did I might as well explain myself.
I used to be a very big comic book guy for a very long time.
I am not a prejudice guy and
I have many Black friends but
why do all these guys in TV casting think they are being Politically correct by
casting Black people in role that were originally drawn and written in as white people,
that would tantamount to be like casting Roots as a White slavery movie.
SAY MAYBE WE COULD DO AN ELSEWHERE MOVIE WHERE....naaaa bad idea!!!
