List is $#!T and as jediadept wrote who, what, where were polled. There just seems to be no rhyme or reason to it since the order appears to be tottally random. Sure would like to know the criteria for why one character is above the other or else you would think that all the Looney Toons would be together in numerical order or all the super-heroes, instead of being split up on the list as they are.
