Late 1959: having successfully midwifed modern versions of Golden Age stalwarts The Flash and Green Lantern, DC Comics editor Julius "Godfather of the Silver Age" Schwartz tasks writer Gardner Fox and artist Mike Sekowski with reviving the Justice Society concept, bringing together some of the company's biggest stars to form a super-team. The result is seen in The Brave and the Bold #28 (February/March 1960): the debut of the Justice League of America, its original lineup consisting of (in order of first appearance) Superman (June 1938), Batman (May 1939), Aquaman (November 1941), Wonder Woman (December 1941), Martian Manhunter (November 1955), The Flash (October 1956) and Green Lantern (October 1959).
