| PAPER PROPS - Ted Kord's Driver's License

"So, bb3, what have you been doing with yourself?" Not much really. But, one of the things I've been doing is paper props. "What are paper props?", you might be asking yourself. Paper props are replica props of newspapers, documents, indentifications, etc. used in movies or t.v. shows. OR comic books in this instance.
You can still find my Gotham Police I.D. Badges in my gallery. But, for this prop, I wanted a more "real world" feel. So, since Blue Beetle can't fly (without the Bug), he's gotto drive, right?
Here's the background on this prop: Yes, it is based on a real Illinois driver's license (But, there are key differences, so, no trying to use this to get alcohol underage.  No McLovin for you!). The name "THEODORE S KORD" is the current in-continuity name for Ted Kord (as seen on his tombstone in Blackest Night). The drivers license number IS THE ACTUAL NUMBER that would be assigned by the state of Illinois to someone named "Theodore S Kord" who has the birthday of Nov. 2. 1975. The date November 2 is Steve Ditko's birthday. Ted Kord's house is in Highland Park, a high-class suburb of Chicago (as seen in Countdown to Infinite Crisis). "1966 Charlton Drive" is an homage to year Ted first appeared and the comic company that published it. And, finally, the signature is a font based on John Lennon's handwriting (A Beatle's signature for Beetle!  )
Oh, and the model for Ted Kord is actor Paul Rudd. |
