Henry "Hank" McCoy, was born a mutant who showed the signs of his being different from birth with his unusually large hands and feet. As a youth, Hank's freakish appearance was the subject of much ridicule from his classmates, earning him the nickname of "Beast". The Beast possesses superhuman strength, agility, endurance, and speed, despite his bulk. He possesses the agility of a great ape and the acrobatic prowess of an accomplished circus aerialist. Here the Beast wears his second costume.

Dude... you got me! I spoke out of turn. Wow! I had completely missed and hadn't even known about those 2 issues Steranko had done on that title (#50, 51) and it appears X-Men were already wearing these outfits at that time.. Adams didn't start on the book until #56 and was on the book until it ended it's initial run with #66. Thanks again for the knowledge, sir
