This is cool! Great character! Reminds of a Mignola type character. Is that one of Joe Quick's Alien head morphs? I really like the swirly smoky background choice although I think it might be more effective if you used it more as a backdrop (instead of as wall and floor) with perhaps a few brushstrokes in the foreground to creating a sense of being enshrouded by smoke/fog. Still, it is already pretty damned cool.
