Being a huge fan of Japanese culture as well as North American superheroes I decided I????????d try to mix the two concepts here. I????????ve done so many Powergirl manips that for this one I threw out all the rules. This version features a hologram material suit, Astroboy-esque belt, zipper system, and a more sophisticated cape clip. I also added the base pick in the bottom left just to show that I????????d tamper with body proportions. Believe it or not they are real!

The top headline says: ???????Supa-Hirozu???????.
On the right: ???????Matsugane Youko is Powergirl???????. Actually I wanted to use a different model, Natsume Rio (who has an even bigger rack), but she tends to have strange up facial expressions and weird poses so I went with m second choice.
On the bottom: ???????The most powerful. Fast and cute!??????? (totally Japanese logic)

Enjoy!

Gorgeous looking picture! So if this were an anime, would this make Power Girl be called a "magical girl" anime?

I would like to say that I'm a HUGE fan of the idea of Japan having western-style superheroes. I would LOVE to see more.

Very tight design layout, great manipping, hot model; makes me want to do something with Reiko Kato...

Looks good to me! You've definitely got the Japanese magazine layout down perfectly... it's very accurate. It would definitely have been cool if you'd put in some Engrish... ah, well.

Oh, and she's hot! Gorgeous girl, gorgeous costuming... but then, what did we expect? (Mind you... the recolour of the hair is pretty flat...)

When's issue 24 due, and where the heck are issues 1 to 22???

Traditionally Japanese is read from top to bottom right to left. But due to westernization it is more common to see things written left to right like we read. In terms of design (especially posters or magazines) they generally do whatever they want.

This style layout is pretty common style for magazines. Mixing Japanese, English and Engrish (Engligh with typos or poor grammar). I was going to put so bad Engrigh in this one but I wasn't sure anyone would get the joke and just thing that I'm incompentent.

I love any girl who wears a zipper system.

I, too, am a big fan of Japanese culture, and I think you caught the big glossy magazine feeling just right.

But don't they read from right to left? In that case, the "New!" logo should be on the right...

Just kidding, bro! Frickin' awesome!

This is wonderful, I love the unique take on Power Girl, the awesome details, the colors, the design work, the concept... in fact just about every aspect of this image. I really admire how you go for it every time Roc. Bravo!
