Hey. It's Blink. In the dark woods. Using her javelin thingy to make light. I had higher aspirations for this but it's just one of those days when I don't feel like doing anything. Don't worry. I'll get better at this one day.
Wow historyman... you sure take a lot of extra steps to get proper lighting. You can also desaturate the model and change the color of her skin... if that is what you want to do. there are 10000000s of ways to do manips.
She is flat when it comes to highlights and shadows, and like History said, you need to work on the proper lighting for your models. It is a good start... so, keep it up!
Thanks for the advice! I will definitely look into figuring out exactly what you just said for my next pic. (I've still got a lot of basic stuff on PS to figure out.)
As has been taught to me. 1 Take you model (body layer) desaturate it place it on top of the uniform. 2 Using the blends in PS change the desat layer to "Darken", Mulitply or sometimes Overlay works best. 3 Change the opacity to about 70-75%. 4 Adjust the LEVELS to your desired contrast.
This should help in creating proper body shadows and highlights.

The model you chose is perfect for Blink. My only suggestion to make it complete would be to have the light from the spike to reflect off her in other areas. Lighten her face a little, perhaps a glint in her eye, a highlight under her chest. Just suggestions.
