Re: "Mega Man" The Movie March Challange ok thought I would adress the items as they were posted :) and to give you an idea of exactly how much went into this I have included an exclusive "behinde the Scenes look" 1. Lady-sama Wrote: Quote: Rockman, Roll, and Zero look totally awesome Thank you, I knew of Roll, but I had heard different things that she was and was not Mega man ( or Rockman's) sister. I was going for the sister part that is why I got this Female bot from the Megaman NT cartoon, though I could not get her name. I did not come out and name her Roll because the image would have looked odd with him "that" close to his sister....than again it worked for Return of the Jedi LOL 2.B Wrote: Quote: This is also really well put together in general, good frankensteining, nice layout. the faces look very obviously recoloured. Except for the eye colour, they're all exactly the same shade, which makes them look flat As for Frakensteining ( if you mean chopping bodys apart to make new ones) none of that was done, it was all done by hand. ( See image at end of post. as for the skin tones being the same I had 2 reasons for that. first was the fact the faces I was workign with had different shades of light/ brightness and contrast wich would have resulted in a terrible copy and past look again see photo. Second I see robots made using a standard flesh tone, so they will all have the same skin color. and I guess third reason, I am not used to working with more than one character in an image so it was something new to try. 3. Thayne_LuC Wrote: Quote: For one thing the size of their faces makes me feel they should have bigger heads than what your helmets will allow for. Like if you were to wedge the helmet off you'd be lookin straight at the brain. The other thing about the helmets, all the accesories on the helmets.... They look hand drawn or "cartoony" rather than real. Are you saying that if they were to take the Helms off you would like to see hair, or are you refering to the helm is so small that if you were to take it off you would see the brain instead of hair? If the second is the case then you would be correct. I designed them so that the helm is actually part of the body, so if removed it would do just that grant access to the CPU and goodies :) But as for making them real I could have gone alot further, for refelctions and such, but I chose to stop there because too many reflections started to look blobish and blured, I wanted to keep the Crisp look to the helms. 4. Dragondac I saw your post at BC about a picture of Brad Pit thinking it was Hamil Here is a way I have found to get around the double posting issue and not upset anyone, if you want to see the before and after, all you have to do is see the origianl image :) but here it is The satges of this image just to show how much really did go into it as my own vs copy and past :)The actor images and the futre city are all I used, the others were just the sorce material for colors. as for Hamil, He was fun to make just to see how well I could "Age" the current image lol....enough talk I will let you take all this in.

Re: "Mega Man" The Movie March Challange Review Crew Ok, so I guess I should give this a shot. Only way to get better for us both is practice, right? As usual you blow me away with your metal. Executed very well. I do feel that this could benefit from a reference of one of Jr's pics. The one with the angel wings. Where I see things that look odd to me are. The helmets on Jet Li, Keira, and Orlando. For one thing the size of their faces makes me feel they should have bigger heads than what your helmets will allow for. Like if you were to wedge the helmet off you'd be lookin straight at the brain. The other thing about the helmets, all the accesories on the helmets.... They look hand drawn or "cartoony" rather than real. It's still a beautiful piece and far above what I am presently capable of.

Re: "Mega Man" The Movie March Challange So I signed up for the critiquing thing and then vanished for a month... Sorry 'bout that. Since you tossed your name in the hat and I have a bit of free time, here's my excruciatingly detailed and honest nitpickage, erm, critique.
First off, this is probably your best work to date. The metal is *gorgeous*, you've always been really good at metal. I love the reflections, that's the kind of attention to detail that makes a pic great rather than simply good. All the armour is great. And you did from scratch... damn! Awesome work. This is also really well put together in general, good frankensteining, nice layout. And again, that metal... beautiful.
Problems: First, there's the mad scientist guy (not familiar with Megaman, so I dunno who he is)... his hair is unrealistically straight (and so's his mustache), it's rather flat and the edges are far too clean, like they're solid and cut off. Hair should be messier, different strands going in slightly different directions, not all exactly the same (like they are here). You might want to either do a couple more layers of that effect, partly transparent so they show through, or you could draw in some hair (individually, strand by strand) on top of what you have. It's time consuming, but the final effect looks a good deal better. While you're at it, it'd be good to clean up his face a bit, it's really pixelly.
Second point: the faces look very obviously recoloured. Except for the eye colour, they're all exactly the same shade, which makes them look flat. If nothing else, the lips should have more colour to them. Also, they look really grey, I think they could use a bit more saturation. Especially when you compare them to the very bright and colourful costumes...

Re: "Mega Man" The Movie March Challange Man I hate the hell outta Mega-Man But for a cast like this I'd go see it. Bruce Campbell and Jet Li? Talk about your odd couple. Great job. Hey! Doesn't Mark hamil look like that now?
