Re: May Challenge: Steam Punk She-Ra Wow, this is great! I can see you put a lot of thought and effort into steampunkifying these characters. That's a whole lot of parts that went into making this! Great job.

Re: May Challenge: Steam Punk She-Ra You are right about one thing I was going to do with this Star. My original plan was to make this into a split level panel. the top half was going to be the troopers,Catra and Hordak with a wide angle view of the 4 to show how far someone would need to go in the throne room to be able to get to Hordak.
The lower panel was going to be She-Ra with sword in hand looking in as if she had already dismantled an entire Army. Due to time constraints I had to start cutting a few corners to make the deadline lol.
She-Ra will indeed be getting a solo image.
as for Catra, this one had a small upgrade from the original. Minor change to add lace and the extended Finger blades:)

Re: May Challenge: Steam Punk She-Ra I was never much of a She-Ra fan back in the day so I really can't relate to these characters even though the names are familiar. Frankly it really doesn't matter at this point. What I see here is excellent work regardless of the subject. The render itself is fine although I think you had been better served to have a tighter focus more on the main characters rather than the guards, even to the point of blurring them out more. I've already seen Catra but was truly amazed by what you did with She-Ra. She alone is the highlight of the image for me. Fantastic work!

Re: May Challenge: Steam Punk She-Ra Cool! She-Ra rules. Great mix of old stuff and mechanicals with the spirit of the originals left in.
I like it more with the descriptions of your choices for the characters, too. My only nitpicks are a couple of minor collision issues in the horde troopers, by that's only because I was trying to figure out what outfits you used for their armor. Their armor, and She-Ra's, I love it! Did you model any of those pieces yourself? Cuz all of it looks great!

Re: May Challenge: Steam Punk She-Ra For this, I took the magical elements out.
Instead of being able to transform into a cat, Cat Ra is a skilled assassin trained in many forms and styles of Martial arts.
Hordak, instead of being able to change shapes, was horribly disfigured in an explosion losing both of his arms. He uses Steam punk cybernetics in the form of an interchangeable Arm and a Flame Thrower, both powered by the generator and fuel carried on his back.
Horde Trooper. I have always seen them as Robots so I created them as Clockwork A.I. using a power source similar to that used by Hordak.
For She-Ra I wanted to keep as much as I could of the of the original design within the Steampunk look. I felt it was better to, instead of the original Crown,I chose to keep the elements of the jewel as the lens of a single feathered clockwork design.
