OOOoooookay, you have to be in your 50s now to have watched the lovingly animated carnage of that mid-60s show. Alex Toth did the design work, by the way.
Gloop and Gleep were probably inspired by the Schmoo from "Li'l Abner," which as many know were often placed in sexually suggestive juxtapotion to female characters like Daisy Mae.

Yeah, this is much better but really disturbing too. How do they... I don't even want to think about it.
