I know, I'm getting too carried away with this whole LEGO thing. But, I can't help it. They're awesome. Well, anyway, here's my version of Cobra Commander without his helmet. G.I. Joe fans from the 1980's will remember this is what he looked like when he was thought dead by everyone in issues 55-59 when he finally met his comatose son, Billy.
There was actually a 3 part mini-series inside of the G.I. Joe comics in the late 1980's / early 1990's drawn by M.D. Bright. It related to Snake Eyes where they showed his real face finally when he went in for surgery so that he could look normal (he was jacked up). But when Cobra found out, they messed him up again and he went back to wearing the mask.
Yes, I remember those issues as I used to own them. The beard and moustache were fake to conceal his face along with the sunglasses. It wasn't until the more recent DDP comics where they had the Snakeyes miniseries that his real face was finally shown. I love this Lego interpretation, it's awesome. Makes me wish that Lego would actually work with Hasbro to make G.I. Joe their next license. That would rock!
