Kenny Baker, actor behind R2-D2, dies.

Kenneth "Kenny" George Baker was an English actor
and musician. He was well known for portraying
the character R2-D2 in the popular science
fiction movie franchise Star Wars.

Born: August 24, 1934, Birmingham, United Kingdom

Died: August 13, 2016

Height: 1.12 m

Spouse: Eileen Baker (m. 1970–1993)

He starred in the first six Star Wars films,
from 1977 to 2005.

Hamill remembers Baker, aka R2-D2:
'He WAS the droid I was looking for!'
