Yes, I'm back with a vengeance. This is the very first character I created with Poser 5 (hmm...I wonder why?). The Blue Beetle- adventurer, super-genius, beloved by women everywhere (o.k. I'm pushing it with that last one)! Steve Ditko's greatest creation! Yeah, that's right, Spidey! DITKO'S GREATEST CREATION!

The textures are all me. It took a lot of experimenting to get it to look good! The mask really isn't a mask. It's painted texture on the head. The goggles and ear caps are simple balls pushed into the head. My motto is: Collision! Make it work FOR you!

The image is 100% Poser. No postwork.

I like the action pose and I'm wondering where you got the texture map and mask. Probably the only thing I'd like to see is more texture and variation in the costume. You have Poser 5 so you could do a lot with displacement maps and the pixel shaders.

Very nice. I recently got Poser myself and have been tinkering with it, but it runs very slow on my computer. Are you adding the costume on in photoshop, or doing it somehow in Poser?

Ya know, when I ran into this pic over at Renderosity, I was going to mention HeroMorph in my comment. Looks like you already knew.....

Still a nice pic, by the way!

Aratak, that's not a photomanip. That picture was done using a program called Poser 5. Poser is a 3d art program that allows you to customize and add textures to figures, set lighting, and add props and backgrounds.

But, like I said before, if you mistake my work for a photomanip, I'll take that as a compliment!

Just great! I'm a big Silver Age Ditko fan - He looks just like the Charlton character. Very clean with excellent shading and superb lines.

One of the finest male photo manips I've seen. I'm not a big fan of the bodybuilder-type as hero bases, as they seem grotesque and inappropriate. This one seems a perfect choice - buff and well-formed, in-shape but not overdone. Could be nimble, very Ditko-esque.

What was the base image, originally?

Just great, I repeat.

Cool! This is a great looking Blue Beetle. Good work on those goggles. Not sure if I agree on him being Ditko's best creation, but he is funny.

Right now I'm working on about four or five different characters. When I get them done, I just might give the Creeper a shot!

Re: The Blue Beetle: Ready for Action!
I've always hated Blue Beetle. I think he's one of the worst dressed characters in the world [outside of the Creeper]. I even hated him back when he was a Charlton Comics character. But this, this right...me likes. me likes alot.
