I think it is my oldest daughter's fascination with retro-cartoon network Boomerang that inspired this.

In short, Quick Draw McGraw was a spoof on American Westerns. QD was anthropomorphic horse character who usually portrayed a sheriff or a Lone Ranger type. His sidekick was the far more intelligent Mexican Burro, Baba Looey. In a few of the features QD took on the Zorro type identity of EL KABONG!, bringing justice to the Old West using his guitar... as a bludgeon.

For those who are unfamiliar with this classic Hanna-Barbera cartoon I direct you to YouTube where you can see the classic "EL KABONG STRIKES AGAIN"

I grew up with this one...Just turned 52 on the 20th...and remember running home from school to catch "Uncle Bruces' Cartoon Clubhouse"...wow, does this take me back...
