After noticing a certain similar theme between the covers of Batman's 1st appearance in Detective Comics 27 and Spidey's 1st appearance in Amazing Fantasy 15, a strange idea came to mind...

Thanks Spy

...but am I the only one who noticed that the bat originally had 2 capes with one attached to each arm?

Yeah, it' s odd that Bats has "Wings" on the cover but in the actual story, he's got his regular cape but a big round belt buckle.

I noticed this too. I think AF #15 was meant to be a homage to DC #27.

Probably right, Jazz but Ditko ain't talkin!

Picasso had a similar quote.

Right again, Vee! Picasso is the artist who made that quote famous.

For more cover mods, check out the "Comics That Never Were" gallery by Raven at the Wizard's Lair. Picasso had a similar quote. The J.P. Morgan variation is: "Why should I buy a congressman when it's cheaper to rent them"

Nice work pijon! It is kinda funny huh. I believe it was Vincent VanGogh (Imay be wrong)who said "Good artists borrow...Great artists steal."

Thanks, Vee. This was a fun one to do. I have seen a number of yours and CO's excellent revised covers although maybe it's time to go back and take another look I don't recall the Britney Spears as the 50 ft woman piece but that sounds hilarious!

Some of my favourite pics are "Cover Mods" (modifications). co04 has done some and I have done some and a number of others also. Great idea! (My wierdest was Spiderman and the Fifty-foot Woman with Brittney Spears as the 50' Woman).
