Re: Return of the Spectre Thanks so much, Drunkendragon! It makes me very happy to hear that it reminds you of that awesome issue! Maybe not that particular issue but I was definitely inspired by THAT guy's Spectre! Jim Aparo was the same artist who had earlier brought back the Spectre for a run in Adventure Comics, returning him to the dark spooky character he was originally and those issues made a deep impression on my young mind! He's one of my favorite artists and definitely my favorite Spectre artist in spite of the number of very talented artists who've done the character. As you can see, I even tributed Aparo's melty hands (though he does it sooo much better!!) from the first of those Adventure issues.

Re: Return of the Spectre This is great! One of my favorite memories from childhood was a Comic book I found way back in 1983 that featured the Spectre and Batman. That style of art, the composition, Spectre's larger than life posing...everything I remember from that issue is seen here in your work. Awesome memories, awesome piece here. Great Job! (In case you want to see the issue to which I refer...here's a shop selling it) Golden Apple Comics

Re: Return of the Spectre Thank you for the kind words, CDA! I'm strictly digital these days but working at trying to capture that old comics look.

Re: Return of the Spectre Hey pijon. Thanks for bringing back The Spectre. You did an amazing job. It looks like a page right out of the comics.

Re: Return of the Spectre Fantastic stuff, pij. I like the 3D verson but this one is just something far better. The attention to details and the way you emulate the classic comic drawings and colors is brilliant.
