Here's my entry for the cover competition. This one is more of a redesign rather than a photo manipulation remake. So I didn't try to recreate the original drawings pose, I just wanted to improve on the original cover.

The base model was actually a few Gil Elvgren paintings from the 50's frankensteined together.

Enjoy!

If Gil Elvgren did superhero art, I'll bet it would have looked exactly like this! Excellent job, my friend! A+++

Thanks to the people who voted for my piece. I started working on it way before I even knew about the contest, so I wasn't sure if it fit enough with the concept. Glad you guys thought it did.

This was the origianl verion I did before fully turning it into the cover. I think the lasso looks better on red personally.

Just beautiful!
You did a great job at keeping the old vintage feel of the cover, and a great manip too! This is a keeper.

:r-on:
Not that I was asked, but I always preferred the red "ballet slippers" with the straps, you know?

And the tiara, correct with the point at just the top, should go on the OUTSIDE of her hair.

But the main thing here is the BRACELETS. You've got those $#$!@ silver half-arm (half-sleeve?) GAUNTLETS, when they should be the more-like-manacles blue steel "bracelets of submission."

Oh, and those big, red, Lynda Carter-style earings would be an improvement, too.

Just my two cents.

Re: Wonder Woman Archive - March Challenge
Well there are four volumes in the "Wonder Woman Archives" collection (see below). None of which I really consider to be a definitive Wonder Woman pose. That was why I used a different pose in mine. Also by using old paintings rather then photos really placed a lot of limitations in terms of available poses.

This made me want to sit on my porch drinking a coke in a glass bottle Like what was said, very vintage and classic. Love the look, would've liked it more had this been the actual cover to the book.

This looks absolutely vintage. Sandals works best too, perfectly matching the style and era.

Great job with this classic look! Everything is blended well! I gotta say that because of the classic feel, the sandals look better suited for her.
