I know I'm late in seeing this, however I can't comment on painting technique because the suit design is the major detractor for me. I don't mean to step on your toes, but there doesn't seem to be any real plan to suit design or color placement.

Much thanks for the comments! Actually, that plastic-wrap look-alike was supposed to be an overlayed chrome layer with a 25% opacity... i was going for a subtle metallic/textile shine (whatever that was supposed to mean) but I missed the mark there... I'm still working on how to mold an emblem to the contour of the body, little progress there so far... that thing on her eye? I have absolutely no idea hehehe I didn't want to leave it blank, but the mask was too traditional... will keep all your comments in mind when I try for my second one. Again, thanks!

Quite nice, very promising start. I've always liked the idea of a female Gl and the redhead is a good model choice that works well with the costume. I think the others have already covered most areas of improvement , the main trick is just to keep at it. More please! :good:

Nice "First Ever"

Pay attention to your details... your metal is OK, but around the creases and such, you will not get a straight line. As in the Hilights and Shadows.

Lay off the plastic wrap filter.... Use your dodge and burn tools to accomplilish your highlights.

More wrinkles and seams... everyone likes those.

And, the thing on her eye... is it suppose to be a "tat" or is it an eyepatch. I can't tell what you are trying to do here.

Other than that, you piece does not make me wince when I look at it... so... good job.

As DD said-
Welcome To Heromorph!

Did she break her arm and get herself an Oan cast?

Great first try! Ease off a little on the Plastic Wrap filter, for tips see our resident Plastic Wrap filter expert, Kallisti.

Let's see more!

Welcome! Good first try. One quick thing, did you use Plastic Wrap filter on her? If so, I wouldn't do that again.

Another thing from one new guy to another, you may want to do is work on blending and softening your wrinkles, seams, and edges to give them a more natural feel instead of a "drawn on and here they are" look.

Hell, I'm new at this too over the past couple of weeks, so what do I know right? Although, I do crank out manips like nobody's business.

very good first attempt, one thing you may want to try and play around with on the gauntlet, try warping it a little to give it more of a curved look to the metal reflections, maybe do the same to the lantern symbols as well to let them blend more naturaly to the curves of the body and face....that make scence?
