even though I'm actually in South Korea and I hail from Vancouver, I used Toronto for the background because it's more recognisable as being in Canada. Haven't seen to many Canadian superheroes, so for my first submittion, I though I would represent... be kind, it's my first photomanip...

Base is done in Poser, the rest, in Photoshop

Welcome to HM and pretty good first manip. Two things stuck out to me. One is that you have a worms eye view looking from the ground up, therefore his belt should be curved the other way. Having it curved down like you do, makes it appear we are looking from the top down. Number 2 is that your background doesn't fit proportionately with the character, unless your character is a giant. Other than that, nice job.

Good start there!
Nice design of the costume. I like the idea; reminds me a bit of Vindicator from Alpha Flight.
I agree that you need to increase the contrast on the costume (especially the red parts) and give it a bit more 'shine'. Also, try adding a few wrinkles/creases at the joints and maybe a few seams?

For a first this is really good. I think one thing that would have made it better is if the body was the same shiny red as the leaf on his mask.
