When I did this one originally, I bent over backwards in my caption explaining to anyone who hadn't heard of the character that this was NOT a bad joke.  If you never read the Captain Confederacy book, it was one of the better alternate history comics out there.

The first mini featured a male Captain Confederacy. He was killed there, and in the second, his replacement was a black woman.
