Just my take on Jean Grey as the Phoenix for X-Men 3.

Experimented with the fire effects.  Anyone know of any good tutorials for that?

Tell me what ya think!

Base Image from the X-Men 3 Take A Stand promos.  Phoenix in back originally sillouhette of a phoenix that I just pushed and smudged around and added some of my own touches.

Your taking an excellent choice of a stock photo, enhancing it without messing with the figure, truly making it your own, and making a great picture is no easy feat. Excellent!

IMHO, I like the fire.

Well then, we thank her mom and dad for her facial expression, and more besides that.

Really good job. I think you should write a flame tuitorial, you don't seem to need one youself!

I like this alot the desplay of the whole overall image is really nice. but I think the flames at the top of the head in the wings and such could use more of a fire look to them. You might want ot experiment if your usuing photoshop with the overlays and use the liqify tool to blur the flame licks and such. But it still really is a nice manip, very cool.

 Re: Firey Phoenix
Yes, all are almost intentional.

The baby phoenix was used because I figure that this is still where she first developes the power.

The flames and whatnot that have a swirl or shape like that of the phoenix was unintentional at first, but then i found that by this technique it looked better with it so I proceeded to reproduce the technique all over the pic.

As always thanks for the comments and critiques. If anyone has any great realistic fire tutorials, I'm always willing to learn

 Re: Firey Phoenix
Looks good, but as stated, was it intentional that she have the "baby phoenix" fire or was that an accident?

Nice job with this
(coming from someone who recently posted a version of this character )
I also appreciate the title "Fiery Phoenix." Reminds me of G-Force and battle of the Planets.
Wait a minute ... that gives me an idea!

 Re: Firey Phoenix
The fire has (i don't want to say a non-believable look) a look that would fit in almost perfectly with the how the previous movies have been filmed.

Good Job

Not sure if it is intentional or not, but it seems that allot, if not all of the fire "threads/flames/licks/whatever" are shaped or give the idea of a pheonix
