Re: Magnus - Robot Fighter - Thayne Luc - Colors by WebGeek I never cared much for this character. Why would any MAN want to run around it a tennis dress to fight robots ??

Re: Magnus - Robot Fighter - Thayne Luc - Colors by WebGeek Thanks All... all points taken. Maybe some pics are drawn to be colored.... I usually try to give it my best shot. This one took me a little under an hour to do so it probablly was "rushed". I've been trying to use variations of color lately rather then relying on my Friends "Dodge and Burn" to much... Appreciate the feedback - I'm always trying to kick my coloring skillz up a notch...

Re: Magnus - Robot Fighter - Thayne Luc - Colors by WebGeek Heh heh, thought you'd get by without some words from me? No way. I agree with everything that has been said so far, I would add that the crotch area needs to be reworked or reshaded. He looks like he took a sledgehammer to the groin. Keep up the good work though.

Re: Magnus - Robot Fighter - Thayne Luc - Colors by WebGeek ok my turn for just a bit of nitpicking Thayne- A constant sorce of one light sorce may be better, for example I see the shadows on the face first off. That to me leads the way the rest of the shadows should follow, but then on his left arm the shadow is on the outer part of his arm rather than on the insidenext to his stomach...sort of throws it off a little.
Web- On the coloring if you are using the multiply option when you color, don't be afraid to color over the black shaded areas, it will only help the over all image. for example on the right leg, you can see where the color bleeds into the shaded area and it gives a slight rushed look to it. also it will help cover some of the halo effect on the edges of the drawing. you may want to take just a little time to go over the edges with a solid black to bring it out some.
Hope this helps a little.

Re: Magnus - Robot Fighter - Thayne Luc - Colors by WebGeek What he said-great pic, great coloring, but... Thayne, it seems like your pencils would be a lot more "color-able" if you didn't add so much of your own shading, cross-hatching, etc. Don't get me wrong, your drawings are outstanding on their own, but if you're doing stuff that is eventually meant to be colored(like stuff for BCS...), you might want to try to get out of this habit. That being said, great job on the colors, Geek. Love the background.

Re: Magnus - Robot Fighter - Thayne Luc - Colors by WebGeek Nice coloring job of a nice picture!
My only criticism is that the shading on the face seems a bit severe. Is the right side of his face meant to be completely hidden in shadow? If so, it doesn't really match with the shading/lighting in the rest of the picture. I guess this is more a comment about the base picture rather than the coloring.
Still, it's a great image of a great character!
