Hey kids, I was informed that one of my pics here was "borrowed" as a banner over at the comicboards.com (JLA forum) unbeknownst to me. I am okay, even flattered by this, as I explained to them, but the topic is getting heated over there. I don't know man, I think I would be a little pissed off at this. I think it stinks a little.

I would guess that this person is so desperate to be associated with real talent, that he does not realize how arrogant he comes across.

At least he took the time to explain, that this is why he sees it the way he sees it, so this is the way it is, live with it point of view.

Yeah, I don't think I like this. I was flattered when one of my pics showed up at the Wizard photomanip site, but this is a little different. Having work posted in another gallery alongside other similar pics is one thing, but...I guess it's a matter of your art being "displayed" or just being "used". And of course, at the Wizard site both myself and Heromorph got credit. The banner below yours has a credit on it, so maybe they'll at least change it so that yours does too. But I will say that I think it's a mistake to say you're "trying to make a living", as this could be misconstrued as saying you're making money off of the DC images, which could be a pretty serious copyright infringement. I think you probably just meant that you're trying to make a living as an artist in general, but you may want to clarify. Some people don't have a lick of sense.

Well I see that they took your work down and put Alex Ross's stuff up. If this was your intention then you won. If you were wanting to show off your work, which you should do, then you lost. I totally and whole heartedly agree with your position and I'm on your side. If you wanted the credit, maybe the message in the board would have been enough. With that, you shouldn't have continued to debate it. But with the banner makers attitude, I think I would have been satisfied with them removing it. I mean, he gets credited with the banner, while you, who put in almost 100% of the work, gets nothing? I don't like it. There does take some creativity to compile the stuff to make the banner, but the talent needed to work in Poser and Photoshop, outweighs what he did. I don't know, seems no one won this one really.

If they won't give credit where credit is due then I say Fock them. That is bullscat and you know it as well as I do. So, Like force said... if you wanted it credited then that didn't happen... if you wanted it pulled then you won. I say we (Heromorph) go over to their house... knock on the door, and when they open it...lets kick the sh!t out of them. Yeah... lets handle this like adults.

Plus, you don't want your image in the banner of a site that has a bunch of Micro JLA guys as their primary Home page images anyway...

I wonder how many actual pictures of Superheroes he has drawn, manipped or painted? Seems like if he were a true artist he would have a whole hell of alot more respect and understanding. When things don't go his way and he hears things he doesn't like...time to close the thread and threaten people to kick them out. What a guy. What a PRICK.

Not quite what I expected from your posting at animotions, but it's nice enough round here. Throw a little 3D Paint on the walls and you might spruce up the bar area to get this party started.

I think I am going to go start a new thread about your artwork... and then blame it on not knowing how to reply to messages... see if I can't get things all stirred up again. :evil Grin:
