so i've been waiting on this all week, and since its finally here, i'd thought i'd share.

My intial thoughts make me very happy, and i'm looking forward to the games full release. while we all know they've been handling the story and character design properly, its a relief to my mind to know that the GAMEPLAY is being handled properly as well. i'll give it a proper review once i've had time to play some more, but it looks like this will finally get me out of my funk, as now i wanna redo all my batgirls to match the style in this game ^_^

anyway, i'm curious to hear wut others think of the game as well.

PS: for those who'd rather play Ps3/360, i've heard the demo is on their respective market places as well for free.

I have this game in pre-order, but I will download the demo for my xbox...thanks for the tip.

I have given up on this game.... sheesh. They kept backing up the release date.
Good to see it might finally see the light of day. I will rent it, but I spent my pre-order money on something else.

Oh, and DK... when did you get your xbox back??? I thought it was broken.

Any Blue Beetle in the demo?

...And no, I'm not asking to bust stones or be a general pain-in-the-ass. For a few months now, Blue Beetle has been rumored to be in the game.

My game review magazine gave this game a 9.5 out of 10.

The magazine says that both XBOX ad PS3 look great.. BUTTTT... The PS3 will allow you to play as the Joker. So, if you have both platforms (I don't) I think I would buy it on PS3. Did I just say that out loud??? XBOX RULES!

OK, I played this game last night...
The instruction manual isn't very helpful in explaining the controls. They are all listed, but don't exactly explain how to use them. The fighting is a blast. Batman has no problem taking down 10 guys in one battle. So that is a huge plus. However, the action is a little slow. There is a lot of walking around between fun. Or at least it seems that way. The cut scenes are unreal... great animation.... and best of all.... Harley Quinn!!!! Holy moly... that is worth the game itself.

I haven't played enough to give it a rating... but so far it has been pretty fun!

too bad they don't have a Wii version.

I may try the PC one though if they make one, it looks good.

Arkham Asylum, I rate thee Awesome. I'm a huge Marvel guy, which is why I died a little when the big D bought them, but I've always been a Batsy fan, and this game doesn't disappoint.

The only real issues I have are the difficulty and the stealth aspect. As in, non-existent. Batman is a bad-ass, and this game definitely conveys it. but it seems like it does so by making the bad guys fairly weak. Even on Hard difficulty it's not that hard. The stealth aspect is pretty much not there. Batman could have really used a Splinter Cell treatment but he didn't get it. The idea of hiding in shadows just like he does in the comics is absent and would have been really fun.

All in all it's a great game despite it's warts. I hope the sequel, you know there will be one, is at least as fun, if not better. ;) I highly recommend it to anyone, comic fan or not.

This game is the best Batman game I've played in a LOOOOONNNNG time! And, it has won a Guiness World Record as such. Awesome graphics, great gameplay and freedom of movement, and best of all.....it only cost me $38.00, heh heh heh.
