slowly but surely working my way through my backlog of characters. this here is Mary Marvel Black, in a nice setting. i realize there are a few errors here and there, but i've worked on it as much as i can. i realise that some better postshoppers would be able to fix that skirt, and i might come back and fix it myself in the fullness of time.

anyway, some honest compositional and idea's critique would be welcome. but i won't make a fuss if i don't get it and thank you guys, for supporting me as you guys do.

(C) Black Mary to DC.

Nice composition Pete. I always prefer pinups to have something going on that's more than a pretty girl posing, and you have delivered that here. I can forgive the hair and the skirt because the pose and background work so well together, but... it's the lightening is the background that really bugs me. There is too much of it, it's all in the "mid-ground", and none of it effects the lighting of the piece. As a result they look like something solid just hanging there. I think just adding a couple of simple bolts in the distance behind the city would have been sufficient to sell the concept.

the skirt and the hair are begging for movement in this image. that being said this is pretty darn good.

I think she looks awesome. I like the blissful expression on her face and the skirt looks fine to me. Another great job Pete.

Great job, perhaps the skirt doesnt have much movement, but its not really bad at all. Also she could have more emotion on her face, after all shes receving a lightning!

I agree with the Chief..there's nothing wrong with the skirt that my eyes can see. Great texture work.

I love the aura effect you gave her, it really adds to the picture, as well as that look of bliss on her face. I really don't see anything wrong with the skirt but I didn't make the picture so I don't know what you were looking to achive.
If you are wanting some critique and what not, the ONLY thing I see wrong with this is that MY name is not on it
Great piece Pete, lets see some more when you get the chance.
