Do you use photoshop? I came up with an interesting and fairly easy method (photoshop required) for adding shadows to a premade or separately rendered background on my Halloween pic so if it's useful to you, I could share the technique.

I can see the shadows being case, but they tend to get lost or swallowed due to the color of the backdrop. It gives a slight feeling she is floating, though I know she is not.
