V - I figured, it was more of a reference for my a$$ really, someone else's spurs. Still fun.

Metal texture is not really that bad, can take some playing around sometimes though. I start with a base gray layer, which I pick up a reading from the skin tones of the model, just gray. Then dodge and burn. Keep clothing a soft dodge and burn, metal a very high contrast dodge and burn. Then add a new layer with the color of metal I am looking for. Probably set to overlay or color in Photoshop. From here I find a nice suitable picture to work with. For Silvers I use an outdoor bright picture, parking lot, cars, park ect... Gold I use indoor bright picture with wood floors golden tones to it. Then I take the image into PS and blur it up not too much just enough you can't tell details. Then I use the filter, Liquify tool and pinch, twirl, bloat it a little in various areas. This is random so its not a pattern. Then I set this blending mode to, overlay, hard light, vivid light, or pin light. Then decrease the opacity. Then duplicate the original gray base and move this up in layer order, and set this to overlay or screen, to keep the details I worked hard at getting with the dodge and burn. If you get a good dodge and burn with metals and high contrast to start, will way easier when you set the image over the base. Hope this helps here, that's pretty much how I do it.
