My third manip ever!  I keep getting better with every project.  I can already see the flaws in this one.  For instance just looking at her damned hair draping over the costume is making me want to pull MY hair out.  Let me know what you think.

U could star using some texture, or filters, so it doesnt look like body paint. Also try dropping some wrinkles, im not very good at that, but even id they are not perfect, they help a lot making it look a bit more "real"

Thanks, guys. That's all really good advice.

Yes, white is a pain. That's something I learned before I ever started this one when I was about to try a Powergirl manip. I decided to give it a shot anyway. I'm a glutton for punishment. I hate starting easy. (which is why I haven't done She-Hulk yet).

And yes, I do tend to get impatient with wanting to finish and post. I'll try the multiple projects approach to get that under control.

But, hey! I like camel toe!!

Oh, and learn the pen tool. Got it.

OK now it is time to learn the pen tool. it will help in ways that will increase your image quality beyond what you can imagine. Pen tool...love it, learn it, live it.

I must agree with all the previous comments, especcially the one from Wasmith. That's a really good advice, I know. I'm pretty new at manips (not even a year, yet) and I can relate to how it feels when we start but in time we learn that sometimes is better to wait until we are happy with our work and yes, White is a pain for me too.

That's why I applaude you tackle this character and the dreadfull white color.
And the advice about having a few manips in the works at the same time, that's how I do it and the only problem is that sometimes you'll get a lot of half-done works like me.
Overall, I like this, I think you did a very good job for a third attempt and I really like your model's choice.
She's hot and perfect for Emma Frost.

 Re: Emma Frost
So this is what you were working on last night. You picked my least favorite color to work with, white (I'm probably not alone in that). I generally start out with a gray, and then darken (shadows) or lighten as needed.

I think it's a good model for Emma.

Since you are just now starting out with manips, I know that you get excited and want to finish and post as soon as you can. I was the same way... my advice is to save it and think about it a while, maybe wait a day before posting, then go back in with a fresh and rested eye. If you see something you don't like, fix it, just don't go ahead and post it and move to the next project. You might consider having multiple projects going on at once. Keeps the "gee I want to finish this and get it over with" urge under control!

Basically, be mindful of the living force, young Padawan (where the hell did that come from?).

I agree with all the comments but for a third manip this is quite good.

Good third effort. As for the hair: Make a selection of the offending follicles, copy them to a different layer, above the original pic and uniform. You can then draw the uniform and have the hair overlap it correctly.
I am not a seam expert by any stretch but the dark areas must be blurred into the image. The white will naturally offset them. With darker colors you would have to dodge around the burn.
And not to be crude, but use the stamp to remove the camel toe.

I think you are off to a fine start for just your third manip! Good work. Chilly is right. If you see flaws, problems or something that just doesn't look right...then you aren't finished. Patience and a lot of practice are the answers.

I think if you see flaws then you haven't finished it.
