I was finally able to locate the First Silver Surfer that i had attempted to submit during the contest. Tho its a bit late, here is the first of the missing three that I attempted to submit in the past. Hope you like it.
I think that the leg positioning could easily be allieviated by tilting the surfboard about 5 degrees clockwise along its long axis.
In an interview with animators at ILM, they were discussing the inherent problems in rendering a highly reflective object in space, ala the Marie Celeste in Star Wars I. They ended up going with what 'looked' right rather than what was real; which is really what a great deal of art is all about.
Which other model are you referring to? This is the only surfer pic i've ssccessfully submitted so far.
Sorry, I just wanted to say that the legs don't work correctly for me (but that's just my humble opinion) and it migth look better if you use legs from another base pic to make it look like if he was walking on the board. This way looks to me like if he standing at the rear end of the board and just doesn't look natural to me. The waist up looks excelent for this, tho. And I really like the motion look on the board. Heck, the all image looks excelent.
I agree about the reflection suggestion.... sounded funny. Ne way. yeah, on the other two attempst which I currently still haven't found ( I think they were accidentally deleted from my pc) I displaced the stary field onto both the surfer and his board. Unfortunately, I have only been able to recover this surfer pic from my deleted files. But I'll keep looking
This is a nice job ortiz01lgnd. The only nit-pik I have is that the Silver Surfer and his board are mirror-like so they should be reflecting the starfield somewhat.
Man, the all image looks great. But something doesn't feel rigth in the legs. Maybe if you change the legs from other model it look better? Other than that, it's another great one.
