The superheroine Nelvana of the Northern Lights became Canada?s first national superhero, predating Wonder Woman by several months.

She drew her powers from the Northern Lights. She could fly, travel at the speed of light along a giant ray of the aurora borealis, and call upon other powers of the Northern Lights making her capable of melting metal and disrupting radio communications. Nelvana also had the ability to turn invisible as well as alter her physical form.

In 1995 Canada Post issued a popular set of commemorative superhero stamps featuring the reproduction of the first issue of Nelvana.

This is my interpretation of the character.

The head is that of Barbie Griffin and the body is known to me only as image 1308 from the cookie jar.

We tend to forget that many characters introduced in the past paved the way for many of the superheroes we know and love today. That's why I think it's important that we keep these characters fresh in the minds of new generations.

Never heard of her, too. But I like your ideia of bringing the less know super-heroes so that people can know them or remember about something they have read long ago.
Me, sometimes miss those days when I started to find books and comics, and learning there was a whole new world out there if you want to know it.
And you did a Great job on her. I like it.
Keep bringing more of these treasures...

I have never heard of her before today. She has interesting powers and a nice look to her.

I like your interpretation of her. Very nice job.
