Got the scanner back up and runnin after fixing a pebmak problem. Suddenly hit with the urge to draw. So here's a free hand to get back in the swing of things. Only used a costume reference.

***Update****
A co-worker insisted I finish this. Not to mention that despite it's problems everyone seemed to love this pic. Add the fact I took Jr's advice after watching those Jim Lee vids I posted. Resulting in buying a rapidograph, kneading eraser, and a non photo blue pencil. This seemed to be the best one to test my new toys on

On the photoshop side of things... Everything went well except the highlights. So yes, I'm aware of that

I like the bold and limited colors. Sometimes I go a little crazy with hues when I color, I might try one more like this sometime.

 Re: Magneto
I did it that way because the comics I read. His power signature was purple and black.

Looks great, only complaint the Purple in his clothing gets lost in the background.maybe change the color of the BG to something like a shade of orange or Green? maybe a yellow?

 Re: Magneto
Actually, I'm glad it got a good response, but I'm not all that happy with this.

It actually stops somewhere around the legs. The stomach kinda aggrivated me, the cape, the helmet, the open hand, and his left shoulder. Once i cut it off I felt it was good enough, but something I'll take another shot at later.

Other than the slight flaw to the helmet..you nailed this one dude! I've always liked your style. Glad to see it back on display.

Yup... looks good. His head looks a little warped... or smooshed... but other than that.. Killer.

I think it looks great for a freehand...I know it's way better than anything I can draw. Whatever gets you drawing again buddy, I miss seeing your pencils.

 Re: Magneto
Well, his upper body is a bit too short. And he looks a tad young for Magneto. But other than those minor things, it's good. Well drawn!
