 Re: End of a Hero Thanks everyone, I honestly was not expecting this kind of response from this picture. It is funny that I was just wanting to do a new desktop picture and I was told that I should post it, so here it is.
Mechatrav, you are correct that is Ike's plane, but I haven't seen the carving you mentioned but I would love to see it. I wanted to use two allied fighters in this picture to give it more of a sense of the dramatic.
Once again thanks for your comments and I think that all who wear a uniform in defense of or countries, I know there are artists from all over the world here, are real hero's and should be honored.

Great rendering of the Corsairs too. It looks just like this 1/24 wood carving a guy made to commemorate Ike's either first or last kill of the war, I can't remember... Though the fallen F4U would have been a Zero in the carving...
Awesome!
And I have to agree with OCP. The greatest heroes of all aren't very super. Captain America would salute Kepford and his squadron if he ever met them in person, and Superman would be humbled by their heroic deeds.

As for not comic related,...Well, you should see my comic collection: some of the very first comics I read was old WWII related comics. Some even draw by Hugo Pratt, the creator of Corto Maltese. Any way, I think the Greatest Hero or superhero is the one without superpowers  Again, This is Awesome. |
