Golden Dragon is from an Anime world - and pushed into the current setting he finds himself in. He has been trained to use his Chi energy to make him faster, stronger, and the ability to generate a force field of Chi energy so he glows gold when he uses it. No secret identity here, he is just who he is - Johnny Strong.
I can see him as a Power Ranger cadet. :)
