NP.I can understand you thought process and its certainly acceptable..i guess i got too involved with the thriller aspect of it to understand that you had a point to this story i suppose when i saw that the female had gone shopping for new clothes it should have hit me then.

Thank you both for the deeply appreciated comments, Paul and Star! Well, shoulda known you guys would figure it out! I guess it's hard to throw my fellow comic writers off the scent!
Star, I can certainly see where your suggestions would work very well indeed but I chose the method I did for two reasons: The first being to tell the story in the shortest and most economical manner as part of the style and secondly, while your ending might play out more dramatically, I rather liked the idea of not spelling it out for the reader and allowing them to decide whether she was shooting him more for his ATM card or love (or equally).

Nice. A pretty offbeat story for HM, but very entertaining. The panel work was very fluid and the filter you used was a very good choice. it added to the mood of the story. Now while the ending came not as much of a surprise..i think it could have been enhanced with a bit more drama. I would have saved the realization of who his attacker was until well after he was shot and lie on the ground writhing in disbeleif that this could have happened to him again. then the dark figure would have approached closer until he saw her face. As a last twist I would have had her go into some psychotic rant about needing to have him and not allowing him to leave her as she dragged him screaming back into her apartment
. All in all this will make for a nice addition to the HM Comics section. Kudos.

You know I kind of figured it out in the beginning, and am glad to see that I was right. Great story.

Thank you very much, Miss Vee. I had those exact same concerns myself as there are no supers, sci-fi or fantasy here and I have no real world frame of reference for knowing anything about junkies. Very happy you thought I was able to pull it off anyway

When I first started reading this I thought (a) it didn't really fit at HM and (b) it is very difficult to pull off a junkie story (I've seen a lot of bad attempts). But I think you were able to pull it off with sensitivity and a plot twist.
