You ask for it. A glimpse into the mind of OCP.

Not even 1% of my influences, but some of the ones that inspired me and that made part of my growing years.

This was fun.

Awesome! You included Lee Faulk and "The Phantom!" I love that comic and the style that he has.

Thankx guys.

Looking at it now, I see two spots where I could include E.E."Doc" Smith, the first sci-fi writer I read and the one that really got me into that wich lead me to find Asimov and Heinlein, and Vincent Segrelles, a spanish artist that really expanded my way to look at comics.

I like the overlapping mosaic effect, for a start. Just to get that observation out there.

And this is the most interesting influence map for me, cause there's a lot of European artists here whom I've never heard of and will now need to check out. There's some jaw-droppingly beautiful work here. I'm in full agreement on those I do recognize, of course. And then there's Heinlein and Asimov! I got into SF through a later generation of writers, but the grandmasters were something very special indeed (especially Heinlein).

Awesome! Great to see you agree about Mr Giraud and also to see Sci-Fi masters Heinlein and Asimov make your list... they were favorites of mine as well. No disputing that Benes, Byrne and Perez are excellent choices... I'm a little surprised to see something as classic as Falk on the list... pleasantly surprised! I'm probably not as familiar with Andre Franquin as I should be but I always liked his stuff and Maroto's an old favorite of mine but what I always love is how you introduce us to other great comics around the world we'd normally miss so I look forward to looking up the few I'm not familiar with! Perhaps I'll start with Derib or Villa, I seem to be in a western phase right now... I'm reading a bunch of old Gir (Moebius) Lt. Blueberry's.
I love this! It's great to see how you think! Thanks for sharing!
BTW: I don't think it's possible to do this exercise and not feel like you missed a lot... I felt that way too!
