First of all, thanks for the comment. Second, did nobody notice the giant skyscraper in the far back? The town was supposed to give a feeling of history and ancientness to the character and for the most part it did. The concept was to make the viewer feel as though the elves have ancient ties and come from a time long forgotten ...or some such. In any case I won't be going back for another shoot (not that anyone was suggesting it) this work for me is complete. Incidentally, the concept of ancient existing side by side with High Tech IS a recurring theme in the game I'm developing.

There's a good sense of consistency and a real sense of her walking on solid ground now. Well done, O!

while i love the character design as well as the Elf history. she looks out of place in this fantasy village with all the high-tech arsenal. is she a time traveler?

Thanks for the critique bro, this piece was admittedly a bit rushed, I wanted a DOF but it a bit of an afterthought and what I should probably do is go back and re-shoot it. I tried to do it in post but it obviously wasn't that great. Ah well the scene was really less about the background and more about the character. I may re-shoot this one after all.

Here's another of my crits so be warned. Believe you do plenty of stuff I wish I could do half that well but you're too good not to work toward great so...
Great looking character! Reminds me of an Elven Annie Lennox warrior. She looks terrific in terms of, pose features, expression and outfit. I also like the way you've used the cobblestone to lead the eyes back to the village... and a lovely village it is, albeit a blurry one. Still, I think if you cropped off a little more of the sides, it would strengthen the composition. For the most part, the blur works to create a nice separation although when the pristine crispness of her focus meets the road, that crisp boot on a blurry road looks pasted in. You might try a little experimenting in PS... like putting a non-blurred layer beneath the blurred and using an eraser with big soft brush and some reduced opacity on the blurred layer to bring back some of that focus. Your masking got a little sloppy around the shoulders too. Also her hair and right shoulder pad lack the crispness of nearby detail making them look post worked in. Still, strong character and a really cool character and plenty of stuff working very well. Good job.
