After Marlon Ilagan sent to me the purple version I posted moments ago, I suggested that we go with a more primary RED on my art -- more like classic Mary Marvel coloring.
Marlon responded with the reds and also making the character a brunette -- and lightening her skintone in the process to make the red pop more.
This is the version Ricky Mountain Con accepted for their program book cover.
For those of you interested, Rocky Mountain Con (RMC)is Saturday and Sunday, October 25 and 26, at the Crowne Plaza, Denver International Airport, in Denver, Colorado.
Re: ROCKY MOUNTAIN GIRL (Final version!) by Jinky Coronado
Wow...talk about three unique perspectives on the same work...
I like all three, for different reasons. The European version lighting is VERY different from the other two, stark and dramatic. It lends itself towards explaining the looks on the faces of the spectators as a "Holy cow!" expression. The other two seem more of a "Check out the babe!"
The Cal gal is interesting, tan, tone and tempting, but not quite right for the Rocky Mountain setting. San Diego, maybe...
And this one, just seems more "you", Jinky. You're right, a little cheerier, brighter, and the paler skin tone befits the Colorado area a lot better.
