AURORA and STILETTO are two of several new characters I've been drawing for gaming publisher Autarch, for their upcoming ASCENDANT game. They're also planning a series of graphic novels for which they'll be among the characters.
They wanted a busty blonde with a skimpy pink costume, , cape, and skyscraper-heeled thigh-high boots and matching opera gloves.
For Stiletto, this is one of several designs we tried. Her final look is even more cruel and more revealing -- and really fun to draw!

Way back when I was creating my earliest images of BANZAI FIRL, I drew this piece of my character struggling with just a few too many treasures from the mall. (Colors by Michael Kelleher, my original colorist.)
I came across it today, and I decided to post it because I thought it included all the important Heromorph elements:

I am into my last month of creative work on my upcoming big, beautiful BANZAI GIRL Volume 2 graphic novel that I hope to Kickstarter before Halloween -- and that's when I decided I wanted a brand-new cover (and have someone fully paint it!).
So studying what I've done so far, I decided to take a pose I drew once before, one my fans and I like very much, and create a new league of Filipino monsters around it -- more applicable, actually, than the generic fanged creatures I used the first time.
Here's my finished line art. This is all pencils, guys -- and it's finessed by my brother Pejee in Photoshop to look inked!
Let me know what you think!
And does anyone wanna take a crack at coloring or painting it?

I set out to create a fun ARCHIE cover that not only showcased the current way Archie is being drawn in the Mark Waid-written ARCHIE series, I also want to nod at the classic style. So my best idea was to put Archie, Betty, Veronica, Reggie, Jughead, and even Hot Dog up on stage, and a member of the audience is taking their photo with an iPad. But the iPad captures them as they looked at the time of the first album for THE ARCHIES (performed by Ron Dante, and produced by Don Kirshner, who produced the earliest songs of The Monkees).
This is my concept art, finessed by Larry Tuazon, scanned and cleaned up by my brother Pejee, and colored by Katrina Ma Hao. The drop-in of The Archies classic image is, of course, from Dan DeCarlo.
I hope you like this final version. I am happy I got the chance to show you my process from original pencil to finish!

After pencilling there first version of my idea to have my more "realistic" Archies on stage and the classic version photographed on a fan's iPad, I realized I didn't take it far enough. The idea would be better if I actually worked with an iconic Archie image, such as the one with the whole group playing, as was shown on the cover to the first album of The Archies.
With this in mind, I re-posed Archie, Betty, Veronica, Reggie, Jughead, and even Hot Dog in those original poses.
Here are my new, tight pencils.

I'd been thinking about creating an ARCHIE cover that played off the classic Archie style, so I decided on a scene with The Archies band -- Archie, Betty, Veronica, Reggie, and Jughead -- playing on stage.
My idea was while the band would play onstage, someone in the audience takes their photo with their iPad....and the image on the iPad shows them in their classic style.
Here are the pencils of my first try. I thought it was cute!

In celebration of my friend Tim Moret's ROCKY MOUNTAIN CON, I've created this Rocky Mountain Girl program book cover.
Three years, ago, I invented the Rocky Mountain Girl for Tim's convention in Denver, Colorado. It was his third show, and I've previously posted here on Heromorph the covers I drew for years 3 and 4.
Now, his fifth Con is coming up Friday, September 29th - October 1, 2017. I won't be there, but the celebrities on my cover will be -- and so will my artwork. Hope you like it, with its showcase of celebs from Doctor Who, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., and Star Trek: Discovery.
And I'm really hoping some cosplayers will embody her soon. I'd love to see my character come to life!
