| Lote' the youngest of Obsidian's brides is a complicated character, she is a skilled healer and doctor and uses both magic and technology to keep the crew of the Phantasm in good health. However, as regards her husband she does not feel affection romantically. This is because her true feelings lean towards women, not men. In her culture, this is considered taboo and has resulted in her being sexually repressed and having feelings of guilt about her preferences. She hasn't quite reached a level of understanding that enlightened people of the 46th century have and she hasn't made inquiries or researched anything about her homosexuality so is essentially still in the closet. She has vowed to bear children and even looks forward to it resigning herself to allow her husband to do what he must to make that happen. She is deeply in love with Aini who she believes feels similarly except that Aini only entertains her advances for the sake of peace within the home. Aini has spent many intimate moments with her and like most of the crew is oblivious to her inner turmoil. It will be... interesting once her sexuality comes to light. |
