Well here's the thing wether she's PHOENIX or MARVEL GIRL isn't she STILL Jean Grey? So that would make her one of the founding members no matter WHAT her name might be at the time, what difference does it make she's STILL Jean Grey. . . so howz about we leave the hair splitting for another time shall we?. . . . .and to answer your question ALL of these pieces in this style I do in PRISMACOLOR colored pencils on pastel paper.

Unless I am mistaken, Jean in her Phoenix persona was not a founding member of the X-Men, but rather it was her wimpy Marvel Girl days ("Oh if only Scott would notice me, oh how I love him so").
