It's been over a year since I last worked on, let alone posted a manipulation. Slowly getting back into the swing of things but still need to get the rust out of the hinges.
To kick off my return to the art, I decided to do a Wonder Girl (Cassie) in the old style uniform. I chose Amy McCarthy as the model. Still a few things that I'm not 100% happy with (Like the draping of the cloth and creasing) but I think it's a start.
Any technique tips would be appreciated.
**UPDATE**
I took some of the suggestions and added a touch of black to the pants to show a little more definition. Still not perfect, but with the pants and shirt I was going for a very shiny (almost lycra) type look. I also added some wristlets. |

In Issue #2 of Wonder Girl (December 07), Wonder Girl's uniform gets destroyed so Hercules gives her a new Amazonian styled armor costume. I just couldn't resist. Most of the costume is armored (from what I could tell) with the exception of the black portion of the skirt (appears to be cloth or leather). I used Gemma Atkinson as the model.

I chose the Red Son Wonder Woman. for those not familiar, it was a story arc speculating what it would be like if some of our favorite DC heroes would have existed in the Communist Soviet Union rather than the USA. The model is Alina Vacariu. |

After working on my Red Son Wonder Woman I thought, "Hmmm, they never introduced Supergirl into the Red Son story arc." So, here's my stab at it. I think the Wonder Woman came out better, but I still like this one. Taking some of the critique I received on the Wonder Woman project I paid a little more attention to the edging of the base picture and I morphed the model's (Laura Vandervoort) face to give her a little bit of a scowl and make her a little more "mean" looking.

| I think this will be my last Red Son story arc character (see also my Red Son Wonder Woman and Red Son Supergirl). Along the same lines as the Red Son Supergirl, they didn't have a Red Son Batgirl so I decided to do my own. In the story, Red Son Batman was essentially fighting against the Red Son Superman run Communist Government. I figured that Batgirl would be doing the same. Hope you all like. |

This was my first (what I would consider) decent attempt at a complete manip starting with a nude base. I liked the evil supergirl outfit from the latest issues and decided to go with it. Hoepfully I have some time to make some other versions using different bases as well.
I'm sure I can make some improvements, so any constructive suggestions are appreciated. |
