| Tenax Oz2y 2019/3/31 6:26 1870 5
So... CDA and Shump1 have been posting some pretty awesome images lately that they inspired me to dust off my Photoshop and finally finish one of the ongoing manips I have on my HD...
Tenax is a character that was published France between 1971 and 1985 by the Editions Imperia , and when I was a kid it was a regular presence in my country comic books too. Although it was a french publication, it was created by the spanish José María Ortiz Tafalla with the writing by Ramon Ortega, Pedro Muñoz e Eugenio Sotillos.
Tenax adventures are a mix of sci-fi and espionage where threats of conspiracy and alien attacks are abound. Tenax is a vigilante in the pure tradition of masked heroes, he never leaves his mask and from the beginning of his adventures he asks his sister Nancy not to call him Peter anymore, but Tenax (that comes from tenacity). Nancy is in charge of Scarlett Hill's rear base where she serves as a logistical support agent for her brother.
They have two domestic robots at their service: Mike 1 and Mike 2, one of the extraordinary inventions of their late father. These robots are very similar in looks to RD-D2 or V.I.N.CENT:
Interesting fact: Tenax was my first choice for France in my World Tour in Comics. It was a character I always wanted to make a manip. About the manip: What can I say? I'm out of practice. There are some minor glitches that still bug me but I'm just not in mood to keep at it. Maybe some day I'll come back to it and try to improve them.

| World Tour in Comics: Israel v2.0 Oz2y 2019/6/28 13:30 2193 3
Almost in the beginning of my World Tour in Comics, I made this character for Israel: Never really liked how it came out. Mostly due to my own fault, just a few weeks after started doing manips... But the fact remain that I really don't like many of my early images... and this one was no exception!
No matter, not that I'm good this days but I like to think that I improved a tiny bit since those early days.
Lately I've been republishing my World Tour in Comics at my new blog and thought, why not redo some of the ones I don't like?
So... Here is again, presenting for Israel: Uri-On (apparently, it writes both ways: Uri-On and Uri Oan), created by Michael Netzer.
From my old post: Quote: He was a former soldier given superpowers by a secret agency to defend Earth against an alien race. His bracelets has the control panel to a lot of different powers and they can also fire energy bolts. The symbol on his chest represents a Jewish temple lamp (thank you internationalhero site).

| Project Superpowers; The Flame and Flame Girl daswook 2011/6/10 14:27 2315 0
The Flame's secret identity is Gary Preston. When Gary was a baby, his father Charteris Preston worked as a missionary in China. The elder Preston was washed away in a flood, but managed to save baby Gary by placing him in a basket. The basket was washed downstream to Tibet, where Gary was rescued by a group of lamas. They raised Gary in the lamasary, where they trained him in their mystical ways. Through this training, Gary gained the ability to control fire and temperature, including his own body temperature. He also gained the ability to travel from place to place by materializing inside of flame (even a match flame). When he reached adulthood, Gary returned to America to fight crime as the Flame. The Flame was later joined by a female sidekick, Flame Girl. Flame Girl was secretly Linda Dale, who was given similar powers as the Flame when Gary Preston was injured. The Flame first appeared in Wonderworld comics #3 (July 1939). Flame Girl first appeared in Wonderworld comics #30 (October 1941). |

| Project Superpowers: The Crusaders daswook 2011/6/13 9:51 2401 0
His secret identity is Professor Archibald (Archie) Masters, an astronomy professor at an unnamed university in the Eastern United States. The character debuted in 1941, his mousy alter-ego being similar to that of Superman's Clark Kent identity. He accidentally got caught in a room with a device called an atom smasher, and, inevitably, the experiment went awry. Instead of killing him, the accident blasted him with radiation, which endowed him with various superhuman abilities. He used these powers to fight crime as the American Crusader. Prof. Masters had a secretary named Jane Peters. The Crusader had a teen sidekick named Mickey Martin. In the mini-series Project Superpowers he's kept imprisoned and unconscious by a totalitarian government, and clones called Crusaders are created from his DNA to function as super-powered soldiers. The Black Terror finds Archie and helps him to lure the Crusaders and destroy them, using the last of Archie's energy in the process; the Crusaders all die, and an African-American soldier named Marcus Chamberlain, who was with Archie and the Terror at the last moment, gains the power and becomes the new American Crusader. The American Crusader first appeared in Thrilling comics #19 (1941) |

| Captain Flash daswook 2011/6/10 12:44 2465 2
For my return to the Hallowed Halls of Heromorph I decided to post a little known character from the golden age of comics. Captain Flash first appeared in Captain Flash #1 (Sterling comics Nov 1954). Captain Flash was Keith Spencer, a science professor who lived in Atom City, a municipality located somewhere in western United States. As the name implies, lots of atomic research went on there. One day, Keith Spencer was a teaching a class when an experiment with radioactivity went horribly wrong. Keith bravely shielded his students with his own body, absorbing all the radiation. Although he survived the experience, he knew that the radiation would eventually kill him and prepared for a slow, painful death. But to Keith's surprise and disbelief, he didn't die. In fact, the radiation seem to have made him feel stronger, faster, more resilient and generally better then ever before. Keith ran several experiments, not daring to allow himself a glimmer of hope, but the results came back the same. Keith clapped his hands and, to his amazement, this set off a miniature atomic explosion within his body. He became taller and more muscular, and his newfound abilities increased exponentially. Keith decided to use his powers to fight crime and protect the Atom City from anyone who tries to use the power of the atom for nefarious purposes as Captain Flash. |
