| Under the Christmas Tree Hurricane_Season DC Comics 2005/12/24 14:30 4762 7
This was one of my favorites back when I was doing them. Betty Page and Phantom Lady are two great tastes that taste great together. |
| Halo Hurricane_Season DC Comics 2005/12/3 10:26 4069 6
I went to great pains to get the costume right, then after I finished it and posted it way back when, I realized I forgot the streaks in her hair.
Sigh. |
| Harley Quinn Hurricane_Season DC Comics 2005/11/27 11:56 3888 7
The Joker's faithful psycho girlfriend. |
| Sparx Hurricane_Season DC Comics 2005/11/5 13:50 4024 12
This character appeared as a minor heroine in the book "Superboy and the Reavers" and was a villain on the Superman Adventures animated series.
Either way, I just wanted to see how the electricity would turn out. |
| Spandex Girl Hurricane_Season Other Comics 2005/9/25 9:03 5337 7
Half of the duo for Bryan J.L. Glass's book "Spandex Tights." Bryan actually emailed me to ask if I would do his characters, and we struck up a friendship soon after. For those of you who may not be familiar with the book, it was a seventies superhero parody based loosely on the old TV show "Electa Woman and Dyna Girl." it also featured very early art by Michael Avon Oeming who hit the big time with his work on Brian Bendis's book "Powers." |
| Hawkgirl Hurricane_Season DC Comics 2005/9/19 19:54 3973 9
This version of Hawkgirl doesn't even exist anymore, but she's still one of my favorite heroines. |
| Mera Hurricane_Season DC Comics 2005/9/18 12:25 3088 5
Aquaman's better half. Again, this was a bit of an experiment to see if I could get the texturing on the green part of her costume AND see if I could make a convincing underwater background in Bryce. The verdict?
Eh. |
| Catwoman Hurricane_Season DC Comics 2005/9/15 14:53 5164 13
back when she was wearing purple. |
| Quarrel Hurricane_Season Other Comics 2005/9/14 14:15 3793 9
From Astro City. I like the character a lot, but honestly? I did this as an excuse to try to make the Astro City rocket symbol in Bryce. |
| Dagger Hurricane_Season Marvel Comics 2005/9/11 16:29 3636 5
This one was an experiment to see how white I could make the costume and still keep it looking like a costume. |
| Fairchild Hurricane_Season Other Comics 2005/9/10 11:56 4223 7
It took me a long time to decide to do this one for a couple of reasons:
1) I'm not that big a fan of Gen13 and never have been
2) It's very difficult to find toned, muscular natural redheads. Most redheaded models tend to be either fragile waifs or rather plump (in a good way).
But when I saw this picture, I figured it was probably time to do Fairchild. |
| Mockingbird Hurricane_Season Marvel Comics 2005/9/8 16:24 3489 7
She's dead now, but hey, so was I, I guess. :) |
| Medusa Hurricane_Season Marvel Comics 2005/9/7 16:13 4346 8
Someone commented on my image of Crystal that there should be more Inhumans images. Fortunately, I did this one, then. |
| Red Guardian Hurricane_Season DC Comics 2005/9/6 20:41 3927 8
I think she's known as "Starshine" now, but back in the heyday of the Defenders, this Russian superhero was a great character. |
| Polaris Hurricane_Season Marvel Comics 2005/9/5 7:39 4382 11
This is Polaris wearing the costume designed by Dave Cockrum when she first showed up as a pawn of Eric The Red in X-Men. I'm big fan of Cockrum's designs (he did the elegantly simple navy/red/gold Ms. Marvel costume as well), so that the route I went. |
| The Tangent Joker Hurricane_Season DC Comics 2005/9/4 11:57 4184 9
A number of years back, DC did a series of one-shot books set in a "Tangent" universe where heroes and villains had familiar names, but that was about it. One of the heroes there was the female Joker. |
| Katanna Hurricane_Season DC Comics 2005/9/3 23:25 3664 7
This was the costume she wore in the 2nd incarnation of the Outsiders team. |
| Choice Hurricane_Season Other Comics 2005/9/3 23:23 4946 12
Here's another from the Ultraverse. The Choice was the girlfriend of Hardcase and her gimmick was that she could use a wide variety of superpowers, but each would only last for an hour and then had to recharge for a day (I think). I liked the texture of the purple part of her costume and did my best to copy it here. |
| Jessie Quick Hurricane_Season DC Comics 2005/9/3 23:22 3673 8
Ms. Quick seems to be rather popular around these parts, so here you go. |
| Promethea Hurricane_Season Other Comics 2005/9/3 15:25 3709 9
I always envisioned Promethea as black, even if her host isn't. She hails from ancient Egypt, after all. |
| Miracle Woman Hurricane_Season Other Comics 2005/9/3 15:22 6012 7
Miracle Woman actually has shorter hair than this, but I wasn't good enough then to edit it. I wish I could have found an appropriate image of Bridgette Nielsen in her prime, because she would have been perfect. |
| Gamora Hurricane_Season Marvel Comics 2005/9/1 16:13 3898 12
That's "Gamora" not "Gammera." She's not a turtle. This is Adam Warlock's main squeeze. |
| Black Cat Hurricane_Season Marvel Comics 2005/9/1 16:11 4120 3
I really liked this one when I finished it. I was quite pleased with how the tufts of fur on the feet and arms turned out. I was a bit hesitant to put it up here, though. When I did it originally, the twin towers in the background seemed a neat addition. Now... |
| Something So Feminine About A Mandolin Hurricane_Season Fantasy 2005/8/25 21:19 4059 8
I did a few wallpapers that were a departure from superheroes. I'm also a dyed-in-the-wool parrothead from way back, and I did some works that I felt reflected the associations in my mind when I'd listen to Jimmy Buffett's music. Once of my favorite very mellow songs by Jimmy is one of his earliest. The song is the title of this work, and the model is Jennifer Lopez back in the days before she was "J-Lo." |
| Artemis aka Requiem Hurricane_Season DC Comics 2005/8/23 20:30 5118 8
The stand-in Wonder Woman from the late 90s. |
| Electrocute Hurricane_Season Other Comics 2005/8/23 20:30 4732 7
Electrocute was an android sex toy who gained autonomy in the book The Strangers from Malibu's short lived Ultraverse line. |
| Nightstar Hurricane_Season DC Comics 2005/8/23 20:29 4669 9
The offspring of Nightwing and Starfire from the Kingdom Come series of a few years ago. |
| Fury II Hurricane_Season DC Comics 2005/8/23 20:29 3852 6
She was recently revived from death in the pages of JSA, but we haven't seen her back in costume yet. |
| Sabra Hurricane_Season Marvel Comics 2005/8/23 20:28 3761 7
This mutant heroine appeared only in Hulk and the first Contest of Champions to the best of my knowledge. |
| Dawn Hurricane_Season Other Comics 2005/8/23 20:28 4283 9
Of the Indy book that was quite popular in the late 90s. |
