The moon was gone from the night sky and a shadowy figure stalked along the dark streets looking for his next victim. Five so far had fallen to his knife and he was eager to add more to the body count.
Then, out of the corner of his eye he spotted a lone woman walking down an alley. He let slip a sinister smile, drew his blade and stalked After her. Sneaking up behind her he grabbed the woman and dragged her into the shadows. ?Stupid little strumpet! ?ave you no sense being out by your lonesome?? he remarked before plunging the knife into her abdomen?.
But instead the expected terrified scream all he got was ?that..... hurt.?
And then what felt like a hammer striking against his face sent him sprawling to the cobblestones. ?So you?re the one they?re looking for.? she said as she grabbed him by the throat, lifting him up. The clouds then parted and moonlight shone down revealing to the man that this was no street harlot. From beneath her hat glared eyes that could only belong to something from the lowest circle of hell! And from parted lips was bared hideous fangs. The creature the pulled the knife from her belly, licked the blood off and tossed it aside. She smiled evilly and then released him. ?I like to chase my prey. Run!.? she said with wicked glee. Knowing true terror for the first time in his life Jack turned and ran screaming into the fog?. |

They have been described as many things:
Savage beasts that talk.
Marauding horde.
Fodder for the dark lord.
Proud and noble warrior. (by themselves at least)
Regardless the orcs are a complex society. They can be brutal, unruly, crafty, yet can be honorable in their own way. Perhaps it?s their occasional elegance to the dark forces that maligns them in the eyes of other races. But is this viewpoint warranted? Are the orcs TRULY evil? Or are they just misunderstood? Can human, elf or dwarf learn to live with the orc in a peaceful coexistence?
Whether they?re vile slaves to evil or just rowdy warriors who love good fight, if you spy an orc raiding party coming over the horizon you may want to go over the next one?. |
