Re: Supergirl Now this is a pretty amazing debut. If this is your first ever attempt at a manip rather than just first for HMorph (and I rather think it is your first ever), I'm duly impressed. The skirt, the cape, the belt, the wrinkles... all very wow.
Suggestions... all just things I think you should try out in the future, take them or leave them. First, you should try to clean up your base pics a bit... this one's pretty blurry. Second, you should soften the wrinkles and the pleats in the skirt a somewhat, they're a bit too sharp. Third, some of the edges are a bit messy, you may want to learn the wonderful tool that is paths, which give you a very nice, clean curve. Fourth, (and this is the main problem here IMO) the whole feel of the costume you've added is totally different from that of the base photo... the costume is really bright and shiny, and the colours are very saturated. The skin tone, OTOH, is a lot... grayer (for lack of a better term). The costume has far sharper contrasts. I'd suggest either toning down the sharpness of the costume a bit, or D&Bing the base pic a bit to bring some life into her skin tone, or doing both.
Please don't let all my nitpicks get to you, though. This is really a first rate image, and a great debut. The only reason I said all this stuff is because I think it's clear you can easily take your art to the next level. Welcome aboard!
