This is an unfinished redo of my lousy first attempt @ Spiderman. The webbing is still stiff (i know)I haven't warped it to contour his body yet and i think I should go back and UNembevel the plastic-looking outline of the red portion of his suit; replacing it with a more realistic seam and throw in a few creases. Anyway, her'es what i have so far....

No good; i've tried the stroke emboss, the pillow emboss and the other one (i cant remember what it is) and it still looked crappy. i think I'll have to use another technique to make the seam.

The costume does look better... but yes. Loose the Bevel. If the lines of the costume are on their own layer there is always the Stroke Emboss or Pillow Emboss. Can't rmember which one it is... one of the two... but those, if used right, can make a "seam". Check those out.

I know. I was trying to go for a result similar to the beveled webbing in the spiderman (movies) outfit -- like slightly raised plastic edges. But I also, foolishly emebveled the entire pic and that's what really make him look flat.

 Re: Brooklyn Bridge
the only time you should use bevel is if you want to make the picture look like a cardboard cutout.
Nothing says flat like bevel.
